At Formation Physiotherapy,
we offer three types of classes:

  • Pilates

Pilates is a highly effective and time-efficient full body workout that will strengthen your core, improve flexibility and contribute towards long term health.

Through low impact exercises that bring balance to our whole bodies in a relaxing environment, Pilates is a great form of exercise for everyone and for all abilities.

Research shows that Pilates can aid the management of back pain, post-surgery rehabilitation, menopause symptoms, osteoporosis, pelvic floor strength, balance, cardio-vascular health and weight management. As well as being a rehabilitative form of exercise, pilates can help with recovery as well as general body conditioning.

  • Reformer Pilates Classes

By using the highly effective Reformer Pilates machine, we offer the opportunity to experience a more dynamic form of Pilates at Formation Physiotherapy. Through tailored exercises, our Physiotherapists will lead you through sessions that will significantly improve your mobility, core strength and posture.

Our smaller group Reformer Classes involve precise and controlled movements that lead to a highly effective and time efficient work out.

Our trained Physiotherapists will be on hand to guide you through each of your exercises, always attentive to your ability and form.

  • Physio-led Personal Training

Taking time to invest in your body’s strength and conditioning will help improve its functional performance through your daily life – enabling you to move better, with more control and more power.

If you play sports, improved strength and conditioning will aid your performance on the pitch as well as helping you resist impact on your joints, bones and muscles, to help reduce the chance of injury.

If you’re returning from injury or surgery, strength and conditioning work is also an excellent form of rehabilitation that helps you progress past the position where you were in at injury and help prevent the risk of a recurrence.

FAQs

  • All of our classes are led by Chartered Physiotherapists, so you can be confident that you will be training effectively and safely.

All our exercises can be modified to compensate for a patient's injury, areas of weakness and/or reduced mobility.

  • If you have any questions or hesitancy about signing up, please do not rule yourself out of class. You can contact us to speak to one of our Physiotherapists who can advise you with how to get the most out of our sessions.

  • We would encourage you to wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to move freely, usually a t-shirt or vest and shorts or leggings. We will have all the equipment you need to enjoy your class with us, however you may want to bring your own pilates mat with you.
